Help us move the needle on inclusion and gender equality in the Cayman workforce.

About Gender Equality Cayman

Gender Equality Cayman is a not-for-profit organization with a vision of greater gender equity in the workplace in the Cayman Islands. The underlying belief is that diversity, and gender equality in particular, are key metrics of highly productive, profitable and stable businesses.

Our mission is to develop, promote and distribute the guidance and solutions that organizational leadership needs to ensure equal opportunity at work across the Cayman Islands.

What We Do

  • Create opportunities to talk about diversity, presenting and helping to develop the business case for diversity and the benefits of diverse workplaces;

  • Propose targeted solutions to address workplace diversity in the Cayman Islands;

  • Support organizations to develop and implement diversity and inclusion policies;

  • Run training and development workshops to support leaders and HR professionals in understanding and addressing gender diversity and unconscious bias in their workplaces;

  • Consult with Government on policy to support a more gender diverse, inclusive workforce (we have been part of the group re-drafting the 2004 Gender Equality policy and we are meeting with key MLAs to discuss policy on Family leave).

  • Poll the workforce in the Cayman Islands by gathering data on the current state of gender diversity in a survey that will take place at least every two years (currently 2023, 2021, 2019 and 2017).

  • Provide a state of diversity in the Cayman workforce report based on survey findings.

GEC Pledge Partners

Our work to achieve a more inclusive, gender-balanced Cayman Islands workforce is possible thanks to the support of our Gender Equality Pledge Partners. These organizations have proudly demonstrated their commitment to driving diversity, equality and inclusion in their workplace by signing our Pledge and providing financial support for our programs.

Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn’t be that women are the exception.
— Ruth Bader Ginsburg
That’s what twenty-first century feminism is about: the idea that when everybody is equal, we are all more free

If you give an education to a girl, that’s how you’re changing her life and that’s how you’re also changing the world.
